PJ Orr has made something very special with his latest album, the second since departing Sydney psych-rock group Hailer.
The band debuted in 2016 with the release of self-produced / multi-tracked album
‘Foggy Notion’. The album received airplay on Double J, FBi Radio, 2Ser, RRR FM and was covered by Happy Mag, Obscure Sound, These Psychedelic Sounds to name a few.
PJ Orr returned to the studio with former Youth Group member Tim Kevin (Holly Throsby, Jim Moginie of Midnight Oil, The Lovetones) to record their new album ‘Tightrope Walker’. This album has seen the solo project evolve into a true band - from finger picked acoustic loops into a sprawling electrified blues riffs where pop songs intersect lovingly amidst lush textures.
Gentle waves lap at its shores, but under the surface, there’s a glint of teeth.
A haunted record, perhaps. Like a punch-drunk boxer, it sways yet ultimately manages to stay triumphant on its own two feet.
The band signed to legendary US Record Indie Label Misra Records for their new release.
