Melbourne-based singer/songwriter, Possum has released her debut track, BabyLove. Written and recorded in Perth over two spring seasons, BabyLove is about waiting for the other shoe to drop – about the potential of being snatched away from that place of safety in a relationship. It is a song about being blindsided in your love life and the person you trust most leaving you.
Possum is the moniker of Kizzy Davies. Through 2020, she has embarked on researching and releasing her Australian Folk Songs project, ‘Fivesies’ via Facebook and IGTV, documenting and performing the drinking songs, bush ballads and country chants of rural and settler Australia. You can view ‘Fivesies’ via her Facebook and Instagram pages. Possum draws on this work in her songwriting, melding truth, connection and identity into folk pop music.
