Introducing Stephen Philip Harvey
Stephen Philip Harvey is a talented saxophonist, composer and arranger from Maryland, USA. Stephen has worked with a diverse array of musicians and instrumentations over the years – solo instruments, wind ensembles, jazz combos and large big band ensembles. He likes to fuse multiple styles and influences resulting in music which is as much jazz as it is classical, pop, funk, hip-hop, rock and gospel.
His eight piece ensemble The Stephen Philip Harvey Octet (SPH8) features Harvey on tenor saxophone, Chris Coles on alto saxophone, Tommy Lehman on trumpet, Reggie Watkins on trombone, Dan Bruce on guitar, Theron Brown on piano, Tony DePaolis on bass, and Dustin May on drums.
‘Tectonic Shift’ is the first track to be lifted from his album ‘Elemental’, out May 5, 2023. The intriguing composition features a blistering solo from Bruce and exceptional work from May.
