Melbourne producer, multi-instrumentalist and Sungenre Editor-in-Chief, Dan Webb has been sharing a new track from his upcoming third album Exotic Erotic Concoction every two weeks in the lead up to its release on July 12.
“Ephenidine” is the third single to be lifted from the album and features spliced and layered keyboard solos by Daniel Mougerman (The Bamboos, Melbourne International Jazz Festival 2019), who remarkably was recovering from shoulder surgery at the time of recording.
“Dan’s an incredible keyboardist. I brought him into my band around 2015, at a time when I was drawing pretty heavy influence from Blur, Nick Cave and Bob Dylan. He was mucking around with Herbie Hancock-style synth lines in rehearsals, over this relatively straightforward rock sound, and it just sounded so amazing,” Webb says.
