Emerging Australian pop-rock legends Fan Girl are back after a tumultuous year which included the tragic passing of band member Jack Wood. Here’s 5 tracks as chosen by frontman Noah Harris and guitarist Vince McIntyre shortly after their BIGSOUND appearance and “Fox Song” single release.

This song is such a great example proving that it is possible to still create really interesting, hilarious, weird and wonderful music within a pop song format. We have been known to cover it when we are forced to unplug.
Micra – Child Grows Old
Found out about Micra when the BIGSOUND lineup dropped, and we have obsessed ever since. What a fucking wonderful song. Really exciting and explorative songwriting. It’s massive. Can’t wait to see them live.
The Smiths – How Soon Is Now?
We don’t need to say much about this. We like to think of ourselves as the poor-man’s Morrissey & Marr, minus Marr’s great haircut and Morrissey’s fascist leanings.
Stevie Wonder – Don’t You Worry ‘Bout A Thing
This has been on repeat in Vince’s head since 1996. It’s a great song, and Stevie is all-time.
black midi – Near DT, MI
KEXP brought us here (surprise surprise). They’re amazing. Check them out. It was hard to pick a single song off that album, but this might have been the first one we fell in love with. Someone bring them to Australia please.
