Today we’re pleased to share this captivating single and accompanying video from Sydney experimental electronic rock quartet Dive Bell. This is their third single release since finalising their lineup twelve months ago.
“I wrote Lupine in a quick frenzy a few years ago in Melbourne,” explains vocalist and keyboardist Aleesha Dibbs. “(It was) inspired by a doco I watched which delved deep into the territorial nature of wolves. It raised themes around belonging and entrapment, freedom and repression – which I explore lyrically in the track. I recorded it on a back and forth journey between Sydney and Melbourne with Todd Dixon (Sui Zhen) and Sam Vine (Kirin J Callinan).”
“The video was a whole other adventure, shot in the Snowy Mountains – it involved the most intense cold I’ve ever experienced, a substantial amount of time on the freeway and a real-life Man from Snowy River.”
